Mission / Mandate

To facilitate rapid and equitable electrification of the rural areas of Zimbabwe.
 
Objectives
In pursuance of the above-mentioned mandate, the REA’s will:

1. Play a promotional role, identify rural electrification and electricity end use infrastructure development projects, find or advertise for the projects sponsors.
    
2. Assist and train projects promoters to ensure cost effective and efficient implementation of projects;
   
   
3. Become a centre of information and excellence on rural electrification through collecting information about rural electrification practices, conducting research and keeping abreast of technological developments in rural electrification worldwide.
   
   
4. Give particular attention to off-grid, stand alone technologies for the supply of electricity to rural communities.
